Curriculum
The word, ‘curriculum’ is derived from the Latin word “Currere.” Currere means to run / to proceed. The word refers to the ‘course of deeds and experiences throughwhich children grow to become mature adults’(Hlebowitsh, 2004). Curriculum isthus, a well-defined and prescribed course of studies which students must completefor them to pass a given level of education. It is a predetermined subject matter in aplanned sequence of experiences leading to certifiable completion. Curriculum isthe base for the learning outcomes and activities through which the teaching andlearning process moves in advance
For Quick Admissions
❖ For classes I and II: English, Languages, Mathematics, Drawing, Painting, Craft, Value Education, Theatre, Yoga and Physical Education are compulsory.
❖ For classes III to V: English, Languages, Mathematics, Environmental Studies Drawing, Painting, Craft, Value Education, Sloka, Theatre, Yoga and Physical Education are compulsory.
❖For classes VI to VIII: English, Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Drawing, Painting, Craft, Value Education, Mental Ability, Life Skills, Theatre, Yoga and Physical Education are compulsory.
❖ For classes IX and X: English, Hindi/Tamil/Sanskrit, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Drawing, Painting, Craft, Value Education, Toast Master, Life Skills, Theatre, Yoga and Physical Education are compulsory.
Group of Elective subjects in Classes XI and XII are as follows
Group I
1. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Computer Science or Engineering Graphics
2. Physics, Chemistry and Biology and Mathematics or Psychology
Group II
Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science
Group III
Accounts, , Economics Business studies, Informatics Practices
Group IV
Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics and General Mathematics or Entrepreneurship or Legal Studies or Psychology
Language Scheme
❖ For classes I to V Tamil and Hindi are taught to all students
❖ All students of classes VI to VIII, learn Tamil. In addition, they also have the option of learning Hindi or Sanskrit as a language
